The Manchester Clinic operates it's own Laboratory and provides confidential and private care for all its patients.
Sexual transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections
that spread through sexual intercourse with an infected person.
Some of these STDs are chlamydia, bacterial vaginosis, syphilis, gonorrhea, genital warts, genital herpes, HIV/AIDS, HPV, trichomoniasis, hepatitis and so on.
Among these sexually transmitted diseases, some may last for a lifetime, damage relationships, cause infertility, cause birth defects, lead to major illnesses and even death.
Some sexually transmitted diseases are symptomatic whereas some are asymptomatic. If the STD you have contracted is asymptomatic then you will be unaware of its presence in your body for many years.
Moreover, there are some sexually transmitted diseases for which there is no cure. So, it is very important for you as a sexual partner to undergo a regular STD check up for avoiding the risk of having sexual health problems.
Unfortunately, some people feel shy and think there is shame to have STD check ups. Due to this, they neglect thier health. Please don’t let your embarrassment cause a severe health risk for you.
Talk to our Specialist Gynaecologist and speak
openly regarding your sex life and your sexual health issues. In addition to diagnosis and treatment we will discuss ways to keep yourself healthy and safe.
Always remember to have regular checkups for you and your sexual partner to identify the infections (if any) for sexual health.
